Forest of Hope is manufactured by Kinnerton Confectionery and this means the products are part of our ‘Nut Safety Promise’. This promise is a commitment to nut allergic consumers that we do everything we possibly can to prevent non nut products being contaminated with nuts. This includes the close management of our raw materials, the segregation of our factory, control of people, equipment, tools and materials and the verification of these controls through anut surveillance testing programme.

We source cocoa from the Gola Rainforest in Sierra Leone, where we buy from farmers who grow their cocoa in harmony with the rainforest. The farming techniques used protect the forest as well as the inhabitants. We are passionate about wildlife, protecting endangered species, preserving habitats, and maintaining biodiversity.

We work with farmers who work in harmony with the rainforest to protect it and its wildlife. The Gola Rainforest is a biodiversity hotspot and home to many endangered species including pygmy hippos, forest elephants and chimpanzees – as well as more than 300 bird and 600 butterfly species. The farmers live outside the park and grow the cocoa amongst native forest trees, they also manage this land in harmony with the wildlife. Selling these beans help them to build a profitable business without the need to encroach on the rainforest.

o We invest in carbon offsetting initiatives. We are working in conjunction with the Ngoleagorbu Cocoa Farmers’ Union ensuring that they directly participate and benefit from reforestation, therefore contributing to building more resilient livelihoods in addition to securing long-term carbon sequestration.
